James will be leading a talk on Emerging Talent Day, Setting the Scene. Scout, Previs and Layout in Feature Animation.

He will also be leading the Visual Storytelling Workshop: Exploration of cinematic character blocking and camera techniques on Thursday 22nd.

James has worked in the animation industry for over thirty years and as a Head of Layout since 2003. James has worked at Sony Pictures Animation, Blue Sky Studios, DreamWorks Animation and Warner Bros. Feature Animation and for the past three years he has been the Digital Studio Cinematographer at Illumination Entertainment. James’s most recent projects include The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Nimona, Spies in Disguise, Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse and Migration and he’s currently directing a Minions short film.
