Alan will be leading the talk, The Wizard of AI: Behind the Curtain on Friday 23rd.

Alan Warburton is a UK-based artist and animator who used his experience working in the UK’s CGI animation industry to inform a series of influential video essays including 2017’s “Goodbye Uncanny Valley” and 2023’s “The Wizard of AI”. His research at Birkbeck’s Vasari Centre in London aims to illuminate some of the difficulties of working with systems that are designed to automate skilled creative labour.
