Throughout his 27-year journey, Simon has made a mark in the VFX industry both in the UK and Canada, working at notable companies such as Cinesite, Image Engine, Double Negative, and his current position at Union. Simon has cultivated a rare blend of creative and technical abilities, which has led to an extensive list of achievements, including the critically acclaimed film District 9, which received an Academy Award nomination and for which he was honoured with a Visual Effects Society award.

Simon studied Art and Design and Media Production Management before entering the world of Visual Effects; working at renowned studios including Cinesite, Image Engine, Double Negative and now Union.
Over the course of two decades, Simon has amassed a rare breadth of creative and technical knowledge and an enviable credit list including the Academy Award-nominated District 9, for which he was honoured with a Visual Effects Society award for Outstanding Compositing in a Feature Motion Picture.
Since joining Union in 2012, Simon has bolstered his reputation as a highly inventive and flexible supervisor working on a wide variety of projects. Most recently, Simon has made the Oscars Shortlist for his role as Creative Director on Poor Things as well as part of the BAFTA nominated team.
