Jo is Commissioning Editor for Animation 7+ at BBC Children’s & Education. Her role is to assess submissions, develop projects and work as Executive Producer on commissions for the channel.
Jo has over 30 years of experience in the animation industry, her career beginning at Aardman Animations where she produced commercials, series such as ‘Angry Kid’, ’Morph’ and short films, including the Bafta winning ‘The Pearce Sisters’ and Academy award nominated ‘Wat’s Pig’, before joining the BBC as Producer of the Bafta nominated pre-school series ‘Go Jetters’. Since moving into BBC commissioning, she has been Executive Producer for the BBC on the Emmy nominated children’s series ‘Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed’, ‘Boy Girl Dog Cat Mouse Cheese’, Super Happy Magic Forest’ and the six half hour animated specials ’Quentin Blake’s Box of Treasures’.
