Sammi Duong

Sammi Duong is a filmmaker, illustrator and director. With 2D animation as a language, she has a passion for crafting narratives that draw from her personal life experiences, combining visual storytelling and symbolism to create striking films that provoke empathy and understanding. Her last short film, Making Mountains screened at LIAF, The Smalls and Manchester Animation Festival and she is currently working on a short psychological animated documentary, To Myself and the Forest of Tigers, which was selected to be a part of Glasgow Film Festival’s Animatic programme this year.

When she is not working on her next personal short, Sammi works as a commercial animation director and designer for clients including Lee Kum Kee, Red Bull, BBC Bitesize and National Galleries of Scotland. She has 4+ years of experience of directing, designing, and storyboarding everything from GIFS to series, in-house and remotely with creative teams.
